Best Beaches to Visit in July
When the sun is overhead, it’s ideal that you get wet. Like all places, each beach has a perfect season to visit too and we list below the beaches which are akin to a paradise in the hot and humid, July.
Actually, the gorgeous island of Saint Lucia is more than your usual beach destination; it is the queen of such lands. If you plan on vacationing here, you can do the usual stuff like - the hike of Pitons, Gros and Petit, two mountainous volcanic plugs which rise over 700 m directly from the sea or roam the St. Lucia Botanical Gardens which has an exorbitant no. of plant species plus a sulfur waterfall, but since this write-up is about finding something unique to do in Saint Lucia, we will discuss just that. Here we list the 5 most unique things you can do in Saint Lucia:
Red Beach, Santorini, Greece
The island which looks so dreamy, it feels it could only have come out of the imagination of a great painter, Santorini has gained immense popularity for its white cave-houses and turquoise waters. Red Beach is a particular hotspot beach destination, of not only this town but of the entire world. A small walk away from the historical landmark of Akrotiri, this pint-sized beach’s red and black volcanic rocks give it a distinct look and give you a chance to visit a beach which is ‘different’ from all others.
What to Do
Countless sunbeds and umbrellas are the harbingers of light and shadow at this beach. Walk on the cute little pebbles of this beach to get the relaxing pedicure massages you have yearning for so long. Snorkeling and Scuba-Diving are a must-do here.
Where to Eat
There are two cafes at the beach’s entrance where you can relax and chill after every session at the sea. At a little distance from the beach, there are also local restaurants which serve great local food and a cold drink to refresh you aplenty.
Fly to Santorini (Thira) International Airport and head down to the ancient site of Akrotiri. From the car parking space, it takes about two minutes to reach the beach. The varied colors of the beach’s cliffs prompt many visitors to stay back for some time and view this unique landscape from the headlands. You can also get to Red Beach by a boat from the Akrotiri port.
Miami South Beach, Florida, the U.S.
Miami, the coolest place-to-be, brings for you fantastic cars, bold and beautiful people, and classic Art Deco architecture in the South Beach (SOBE). The beach is usually up and pumping, all day and all night with party environs. The beach’s most tourist-favorite section is the Ocean Drive, between the Fifth and the Fifteenth streets. South Beach is an idyllic stage for putting yourself out there in the hot mix of sand, summer, sea, and sun. However, if you are looking for solace, you got to move south down the Fifth street where the atmosphere is quieter and calmer than the beach’s northern counterpart.
What to Do
Go to the close-by Haulover Park for fishing, playing tennis and golf, and bicycle rides. You can also board a cruise or do a sailing tour of the South Beach. Visit the Art Deco Historic District, Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, Miami Beach Boardwalk, and Collins Avenue on foot if you like seeing the city that way. Shopping at the Lincoln Road, Art Basel, and Britto Central is also fun. Adventurous water-sport activities such as riding a speed-boat, parasailing, surfing, and scuba are all here.
Where to Eat
South Beach’s fine Oceanside dining is world-famous, so definitely take a shot at that. There are many cafes and local cuisine-serving restaurants, especially the seafood places at the beach which are its specialty, so get there to appease your appetite.
Taxis and the much cheaper, South Beach Local bus service should be your preferred mode of transportation in and around the beach. Metrobus service can also be used to travel around all of the Miami Beach. You can also ride the Miami Hop-on Hop-off and move around the city as per your convenience. There are also car rental and bike rental systems near the beach. The nearest international airport is the Miami International Airport.
Balangan Beach, Bali, Indonesia
A beach outside the league, Balangan Beach is the opposite of Bali’s Kuta Beach. It is a calm beach, away from all the frenetic energies exuding out of other Bali beaches. It’s a great place to hold a destination wedding or to ride an amazing fast-left surf or to chill by the pristine white sands or to relax in the intoxicating surfer bars or have a nice cup of coffee in shack cafes. Visiting Balangan will make you feel that you have a piece of Bali, all to yourself.
What to Do
When you have had enough of swimming and surfing in the azure Indian Ocean touching the Balangan beach, you can head to a small temple near the place known as Pura Dalem Balangan or walk towards the south end of the beach where there are quaint beach bars to replenish you after the day’s swim.
Where to Eat
There are many guesthouses near the beach which offer both local and international delicacies. There are small cafes nearby too which can fill you up with delectable seafood and a rejuvenating drink.
From Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, you can book a taxi or rent a car to Balangan Beach which is approximately 4 miles from Jl Ulu Watu on Jl Pantai Balangan. There are many guesthouses near the beach where you can freshen up. If you hire a taxi from the Kuta area towards the Balangan Beach, you will have to pay about 100,000 Rupiah/hour for the round-trip and the waiting time.
That’s that then. Plan a trip to any of these beaches and make your July fantastic. Book your cheap ticket to Santorini, Miami, and Bali here.
